Our Story
Lee grew up in Price, Utah and Nikeela grew up in Kennewick, Washington. So how, you might ask did two small town people end up in Caldwell, Idaho? Well that’s a rather long story with lots of detours along the way. But the short version (and my favorite) is that in 2011 Nikeela rode a wicked fast Quarter Horse filly that beat Lee’s horse every time, and so naturally he fell madly in love with Nikeela! But Nikeela didn’t even know who Lee was until a year later when he asked her out via Facebook and they met in Ogden, Utah for their first date and as they say…the rest is history.
Since joining forces we relocated to Caldwell, Idaho where Nikeela practices law at Abrams Law and Lee is a general contractor at Abrams Building & Supply. While our day jobs keep us plenty busy we still find time to pursue our first love, fast horses! We focus on having a small herd of high quality horses that have the bloodlines and early foundation to go on to be successful on the track, barrel pen, or roping arena. It is important to us that our horses be versatile and therefore we try and get them out of the arena as much as possible and use them as horses whether its at a branding, moving cattle to summer pastures, trial riding in the mountains or packing elk, it all makes for a better rounded overall horse.
In 2018 Nikeela suffered a catastrophic accident during a horse race, which she was lucky to survive, but left her paralyzed from the chest down. We are still learning how to navigate this adjusted lifestyle and have recently downsized to 20 acres which we intend to make into a equine facility that is set up in such a way as to allow Nikeela to be as involved as possible with the horses still. Give us a shout if you are in the area and would like to meet us and our horses, we would be happy to give you a tour!
